Well, today I was so busy getting ready for Scrapfest and I wondered where am I getting my inspiration from today. I have been designing like crazy, cutting more paper than I ever have before and putting the finishing touches on our booth organization that I wondered if I had stopped long enough to breath. So I decided to sit down with a cup of tea at the computer and I got this email from my Sister-In-Law in British Columbia. And once I read it I seemed to get great inspiration from the oddest of places. She is doing The Weekend to End Breast Cancer in September of 2008 in Calgary, Alberta with her daughter. I am so proud of her and decided that my inspiration today was from a completely different source.
Our scrapbooking means so much to all of us and we take so many pictures that we want to treat very special. Let's look a little deeper into those pictures and those faces each and every day and give our many blessings more than a glance. May you also find inspiration in the oddest of places and remember to give thanks for our many blessings!!!

Inspiration Monday (1 day late)

This photo is a perfect example of where you can find inspiration for a scrapbooking layout.
Inspiration#1- Colours- shades of creams and greens with accents of browns.
Inspiration#2- Textures- linens, wood, glass and stripes
Inspiration#3- Embellish- fringe, flourishes and flowers
So, how does this relate to scrapbooking. Here are a couple of scrapbooking lines that I found inspiration from the photo above. How beautiful would this layout be.

Inspirational Mondays
Often times when I am scrapbooking and loose my inspiration I will often look at my many cards books for that inspiration. Many Cards designs can be converted to a full page or double page layout. Sometimes they are just simple enough to get the creative juices flowing and most times they have just enough embellishment on each card to spice up that empty corner of a nearly finished page. I cannot tell how many times this has worked for me. Scrapbook Trends puts a great cards magazine out each month and the follwoing blog is also a great help for me. I hope that you can use it as well!!! Have fun with it!!!

Inspiration Mondays
I believe the inspiration for much of my scrapbooking comes from great designs in homes and great homemakers. When I founnd this blog several weeks ago, I loved how Cindy made her home. The colors inspire me, the softness inspires me and the way she talks in her blog inspires me. I also believe that the vintage feel is coming back to scrapbooking. Not the kind that we scrapbooked years ago; a vintage, heritage feel with a new twist. A brighter yet subdued brightness, the softness of corners, the presense of lace, and aged edges. Take a look at this blog and let it inspire you to take that next step and give a vintage, heritage feel to those new photos.

Inspiration Monday

Birds are appearing everywhere in design. Home decor, stationary, clothing and of course scrapbooking. Why not embrace our feathered friends and find inspiration. For example, use the colour of a cardinal or maybe a blue jay, or simply embellish a page with a feather. Find and use a quote that celebrates flying. You may be suprised how much you may like using bird inspirations in your next layout or altered project.

Inspirational Mondays
Today I choose a blog that has brought me many inspirational moments. "The Nester" has brought me many hours of pleasurable reading and many great ideas for colors combos in my scrapbooking. I love her tassles as well. She does a fabulous job in creating them. I have also enjoyed some of the blogs that she has linked to her own blog. I hope you are able to enjoy them with a hot cup of tea and read away!!!

Inspirational Mondays
Many times I can sit to my scraptable and wonder where my inspiration is going to come from on that particular day. I sometimes come up blank and wonder why the paper or the picture is not motivating me in any way. I know it is an old cliche, but it is at these times that I just sit and browse through my mountain of magazines and books that I never seem to really get through enough. I walk away from my scraptable, get a great cup of coffee and sit in my living room with my sketch book. When I am relaxed and there is no pressure on me, the ideas start to flow and the abundance of great ideas and inspiration that my books provide is wonderful. So sit down at home, on break at work or take a book to the gym with you while you are on that treadmill and get some wonderful inspirational ideas that you can use when you at your scraptable next time. Always remember this lovely little phrase and "Keep Calm And Carry On". The inspiration will always come from reading a great scrapbooking magazine!!

Inspirational Mondays
I would like to start off this Monday with everyday inspirations. Just look around your house and you can become inspired. Look at the patterns and colours you have chosen for your home. How have you placed your furniture. You'd be surprised how the way you decorate your home is translated into your scrapbooking. Do you angle pieces of furniture or do you like your furniture straight and parallel? This same question can be asked about the way you place your photos, pattern paper and embellishment on your layout. What colours or pattern paper are you most attracted to? You don't always have to look in the latest scrapbooking magazine to find inspiration just look around the house. Take random photos of things in your home and celebrate them in a mini album or on a layout!
